Busch Gardens : Animal Care Center Construction Underway

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay plans to open a new 16,000-square-foot Animal Care and Nutrition Center this winter.

Located between Jambo Junction and Rhino Rally, the center will offer an up-close look behind glass and a walk-through experience of the park veterinarians and animal care staff doing everything from making meals to surgery. Their jobs are now done backstage.

Exam tables will be equipped with overhead cameras and vets will be able to answer guest questions over an audio system. The center will be part of regular park admission.

Chatted to staff at BG about this a couple of weeks back and they hope to open by the end of the year. It's going to be similar to the animal hospital at Animal Kingdom - but with extras!
