Re: How long is the boat ride from Port Orleans to Downtown Disney?
You bet!

My DW and I drive down to POR and every time we go, as soon as we check, we go hop on the boat down to DTD. After 7 1/2 or 8 hours in the car, it's just so nice to get on the boat, sit back, relax, and feel the warm breeze as we travel casually down the Sassagoula River to DTD!

We found Olivia's in OKW to be a cool place to hang out and relax. You can take the boat to DTD then another short boat ride to OKW and have a look about.

Re: How long is the boat ride from Port Orleans to Downtown Disney?
On a recent stay at OKW (August) we really enjoyed our meals (two) at Olivia's.
It's a simple little place, but what they have on their menu is well prepared.

Re: How long is the boat ride from Port Orleans to Downtown Disney?
Yes, it is about 20 - 25 minutes from POR (depending on how long they take picking up at POFQ on the way), and yes, it is a lot nicer than getting the bus! It's exciting for the girls too, and there are lots of nice big water birds along the way to point out to them. It's a pretty stretch of river, and coming into the dock at DTD and seeing all of the buildings ahead is pretty cool!

The only negative we found was probably just because of the time of year - we used the boat in January, and coming back at night it was literally freezing cold! You could really feel the breeze on the water! But as you are looking to go at easter then you probably won't have that problem.
