Maybe Itinery for 2014 Trip

the plan is a 3 weeks stay

1st 2 weeks in an orlando villa

1st week sight seeing in the orlando area. airboat ride, st johns riverboat cruise, KSC and whatever else we can come up with.

2nd week doing the parks. maybe best to do AKL last two nights before we move down to the gulf coast

3rd week in a friends villa in cape coral. will have to do some homework on the area to see whats down there and to go visit

Oh yes forgot about there. Seeing as I can go in a pool again after the op if we can afford it yes we will

AK then off to Cape Coral is a good idea, Mick.

I actually used to live "down there" (in Fort Myers). I'll tell you the locals lovingly refer to the Cape as Cape Coma.

It's a residential area without too much to do to be honest. There is an influx of monitor lizards (they had to call in the EPA!!

) because some fool let some illegally owned ones go... don't let the dog out.

There is Fort Myers Beach and Sanibel Island very close to the Cape. There is the Edison Ford house. Very nice museum like grounds of the winter homes of Edison and Ford.
There is the Big Cypress Slough. It's an environmental outdoorsy kind of thing.

There is the planetarium...

Ummmm... not much shopping to recommend, but if you want to bother head to the Tanger Outlets on the way to Fort Myers Beach or Sanibel.

You can take a high speed catamaran into Key West! That might be fun to do. Makes for a long day, but it's a really neat way to get there and back.

Oh, there is the Seminole railroad too...

change of plans

what we are thinkiing of now is :-

fly into MIA
drive to maybe fort lauderdale, uncle suggested marriott residence inn plantation, stay next day to have a look around. have breakfast next day then leave for orlando
book into villa for the 2 weeks stay, or however long we choose to stay there
2 nights AKL
then whatever days are left stay down on the gulf coast somewhere other than cape coma

drive back to MIA for the flight home
