Re: EPCOT Food & Wine Festival 2008 Marketplaces
Well, at least there are a couple of new items there. :sigh; I get so tired of the same old, same old year after year.

The mushroom ragout over spaetzle (Germany) is quite nice though!
I look forward to the cheese plate from Ireland. Wonder if my beloved Corleggy will be featured?
Selections are nearer to $3-6 each now though. :sigh;
Vienna is new.
Oh and the escargot were divine last year, so I'm looking forward to them again this year.
Ok. I guess I'll go. At least once.

Look delicious.
Remember...in the past, if you were there w/ the Dining Plan (free or otherwise) you could use your snack credits as these kiosks...I asked the CM last time I called if she knew of any change in this policy and she had not.
GREAT use of snack credits!

* Melbourne, Australia: Barramundi Fish, Grilled Lamb Chops
That's the best they could too! I mean I like Barramundi (and btw it's from Queensland not Victoria but I quibble.....)
But lamb chops!
What about kangaroo, or emu sausages, crocodile, bush tomatoes, native lemon, marron, yabbies.... I could go on....
But I am salivating just looking at all the yummy food there
- what day are we doing this, Pina Coladans?

I guess they have to cater to the unadventurous palette that the majority of US tourists have. I always rage about the menu at the Rose and Crown because it is so un-British.
Having said that I wish they wouldn't have this festival during school term time. Then I might be in with a chance of visiting. :sigh;

Re: EPCOT Food & Wine Festival 2008 Marketplaces
That's my main complaint about "today's" food and wine festival. It used to be quite authentic. Now, it's so bland as to be boring. The selections from the countries are more "American concept" than true representations of that given country's foods. How many people in Poland want to be defined by pierogies and keilbasa?

Escargot are lovely!
They taste a bit like a mushroom, and have the same consistency of a largish button mushroom. It's really the way they are prepared that determines how nice they are. Plain they are quite boring. Done with loads of garlic and tucked in little (think tiny!) brioche they are divine!
You'll have to try one Piglet!
(Hey, we agree on the BC and Stormalong Bay)!
