Re: ? for Kindle owners
OK more Kindle Fire questions.
Does it have a USB port. Can you download photos to it. Any advantages to having an iPad or iPad2 over the Kindle Fire except for the larger screen?

Re: ? for Kindle owners
Yes, it does. Micro USB connector.

According to the documentation, yes. Via USB.
I'll abstain on this one and let people who might have used both pop in. I haven't actually used a Fire yet. And probably won't get the opportunity to.

I haven't played with the Kindle Fire yet so I can't answer anything about that, but just thought I'd add that if you go with the new Kindle (the one without the keypad) it only comes with a USB, not a wall charger

Re: ? for Kindle owners
I thought about the Kindle fire and heard about 2 people who are not happy with it. Definitely not good for kindle books.
But to each their own.

She didn't go into specifics, but said to keep my traditional kindle with the paperback book look. I'm assuming it has to do with the color and look for the fire...maybe great for movies and the net, but no so good for traditional books.

Re: ? for Kindle owners
I think what people don't like about the fire is that it doesn't use the 'e-ink' that the other kindles use.
At least that's what I've gathered from reading reviews.

Re: ? for Kindle owners
e-ink? We went to the store and looked at one. She doesn't want JUST a Kindle. But she really liked the Fire and said that she had no problems trying to read the books they had on it.
