      UPDATED: President Obama to visit Walt Disney World

      Further to our earlier thread here it has been confirmed by the White House that President Obama will be visiting Walt Disney World on January 19, 2012.

      No further details are known at the moment, but as already reported, Disney has shifted its entertainment focus away from the Magic Kingdom theme park, adding Extra Magic Hours to its three other parks as well as a special fireworks show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios that night.

      There will be additional parade audience control (PAC) added to the Magic Kingdom between 7am and 3pm, which suggests that the President may visit that park.

      If you are visiting Walt Disney World on Thursday you should be prepared for traffic and transportation delays associated with the President’s visit, particularly in the Magic Kingdom area.

      President Barack Obama will visit Walt Disney World this Thursday, 19th, during a planned trip to Orlando on Thursday, where he will “unveil a strategy that will significantly help boost tourism and travel,” an aide from the White House said.

      Obama’s speech is said to take place inside the Magic Kingdom between noon and 2pm, using Cinderella Castle and Main Street USA as a backdrop.
