I`ve got a new countdown....whoopeee!

At last I`ve managed to sort out our next trip over the pond!

Thanks to a combination of FC miles/Reward seats [not to mention smooth talking to a very nice lady at VA], I`ve managed a good deal on UC seats.
We will be flying to Orlando for a while before going to New York where we will meet up with our friends from LA before taking another DCL cruise with them to Nova Scotia.
After a couple of days in New York we will then be flying home from there.

The only downside is that VA do not fly from NY to Manchester so we will have to face a 3 hour drive back home on the day we arrive back, which I ain`t looking forward to.

Yep, we fly out to Orlando June 27th and we`ll be in New York from July 12th -July 23rd, during which time we`ll do the cruise.
The last time we were in New York was years ago....it was in November and boy it was real brass monkey weather.
Hopefully it will be a tad warmer when we visit this time.

I'm really pleased you have got a date set in stone now I feel sorry for you having to drive from Heathrow, it could be worse it could be Gatwick at least you will be on one of the newer planes, the Airbus 340/600, which trust me is a bonus

As it is a night flight make sure you and Sue are sat on the left hand of the plane as you go into the cabin, you will be sat side by side, but there will be no-one facing you and it is very quiet for sleeping - I think we had seats 12 and 14 The seats the other side are facing each other and much closer than the 747 if you prefer.

Are you flying home from Newark or JFK, they both have Virgin only Clubhouses. JFK is the newest, it doesn't open until March.

When you get into Heathrow, you can go into the Virgin Clubhouse, it is supposed to be fantastic, you can go in for breakfast, lunch or whatever, it is all complimentary, and I think you can even take a shower

Hey, just think you might be lucky and have one of the brand new A330 which will have the brand new suite in it, the first planes are going from LHR to JFK

We managed to get our preferred seats on the outward bound flight [6A & K] Wendy, and we were originally allocated seats on the starboard side of the Airbus for the return leg.
Having since checked the seating plan, I`ve now switched our seats to 1 A & D for the return journey.

We will be flying in and out of JFK so it will be good to check out the Clubhouse.

I doubt whether we will use the facilities at LHR though as we will be keen to get home after the return flight.
