The evening sky recently has been stunning
Should have posted before but I'm sure you have noticed the planets are putting on quite a show.
As the sun goes down there is the crescent moon and close by are Jupiter and the almost painfully bright and chunky Venus looking stunning. If its dark , turn to the left 90 degrees ish and lookup and you will see the bright orange / red mars. Pretty much our whole visible solar system right there

The Pleiades (Seven Sisters) will be right next to the moon tonight too. It is pretty stunning. Thanks Chris for the info.

Re: The evening sky recently has been stunning
Mars is very orangey compared to other objects in the sky. It's easy to pick out. Steven and myself were out the other night pointing out objects to each other that could be seen with the naked eye. It was so clear that if you stared long enough you could make out the Orion nebula.

Re: The evening sky recently has been stunning
I love that
I also love being able to see the whole of the moon even though only a crescent is lit - the rest is lit by 'earthshine' ie light reflected of the earth back up to the moon
