Hi, was at millennia mall yesterday and we paid 6% tax in hollister and abercrombie and fitch.
Good prices!! Cheesecake factory good too!

Seriously? You pay taxes here on the purchase and then have to pay VAT there? And it STILL works out cheaper? Wow. Guess I'll never be able to afford to live in Ireland.

that's why it's called Rip Off Britain You usually find that things are the same in £s here as they are in $s with you 
I'd wait a while intil the Euro crashes completely and Ireland goes back to the punt, things might be cheaper then.

When we went over they had just changed from the punt to the Euro. Merchandise still had the old tags on it. Things were a mess and very confusing! I just simply handed over the money and if they gave me change, I felt I'd gotten a bargain. LOL.
Things were expensive even then, though.
I just want to be on the coast of Bantry Bay in some little windy cottage, tucked up with an Irish Wolfhound and an Aga.

I remember going into some shops and waving my British passport and not having to pay tax on some stuff, being a tourist.... Is this right, or was I dreaming?

In some other States we have visited that has been the case, but I don't know if you can do the same in Florida though

In one place there was this huge shop called DFS Galleria and everything was tax free if you showed your passport
