if it is possible to get a look see at the new princess rooms at POR or the new suites at Art of Animation while we are staying somewhere else at Disney?

You can go to guests services at the resort and ask to take a look around. If the rooms aren't occupied I can't see that there will be a problem

I haven't done it, but I've been told that you can see in a resort room if the housekeeper has time to show you. Only thing you can do is ask.

I've done it a few times years ago to get photos for the website

A couple of times they were really pleased to take me around and let me photo, asked me about the website etc. A couple of other times, they said outright no. I went back a little later and said I was thinking of staying there next visit and wanted a quick look around and they were happier with that and showed me around.

It definitely depends on who you talk to though

Actually we are taking two more grandchildren down in 3 years. This will be the first time they are opposite sex so we are seriously thinking about the suite at Art of Animation but we'd like to check it out first.
