I only purchased 50 points at Old Key West. Fifty points doesn't seem like much but if used correctly you can manage to get 4 or 5 nights during the right seasons. Keep in mind if you are a couple points short you can purchase up to 24 one time use points per year from DVC for $15.
My DD9 and I have stayed at AKL, OKW, SSR and BLT using our points. The discount for APs is great. In addition, there is this unspoken privilege of "Pool Hopping".
