TIP: Save 20% on Disney Dining
This is one that we used last time.
There is a card you can buy called the Disney Dining Experience (DDE) Card which will give you 20% off all meals and alcohol (except on special days like christmas day).
You have to either have an Annual Pass or be a florida resident to buy one and it costs $75 but you easily make that up on savings!
They do now add a tip 18% usually but can be 20% at v&a for example to your bill. Even if you think of it as just paying for all your tips, $75 is a bargain!

Re: TIP: Save 20% on Disney Dining
Just another few tips on this GREAT card. If you order your card past the middle of the month, you actually get a more time out of it. If you order on say Feb 1 08 you tend to get a card valid till end of feb 09, but if you order at feb 20th it tends to be valid till end of march 09. So you can get a few more days out of it

Also if you're going to Disney within a few weeks, there may not be time for the card to arrive! Let the DDE people know and they'll try and arrange for a card or letter to be at the Epcot guest services

Re: TIP: Save 20% on Disney Dining
Now is this card good on all food, even the smaller places that you just walk up to a window? and what about places that simply offer desserts? the ones that sell the mickey head ice creams?

Re: TIP: Save 20% on Disney Dining
That's ok! It's still a good thread and tip to talk about

I love the Tables in Wonderland card (old DDE card). It's 20% off everything, even alcoholic drinks (hic!) which is unusual for Disney. The downside is that enforced 18% gratuity (boo) which means that nowadays, the card is almost just a prepaid tip card. Nevertheless, it's good value.
For example, at Victoria & Albert at the Grand Floridian you'll almost certainly save the entire cost of the card in one meal!
There ARE restrictions which apply during holidays and special events, please check with the restaurant when you make your reservation. Blackout dates include major holidays such as Mother's Day, Easter, 4th of July, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day.
You also can't combine it with other offers so fantastic dinner packages can't be used with the card and so on.
You get a list of places that take the card but basically the following are on it:

Re: TIP: Save 20% on Disney Dining
We love TIW far more than DDP.
You can't use it at counter services in the parks, nor the walkup kiosks, that sort of thing. Essentially, it's for full service and buffet meals, or at All Star and Pop food courts (no full service restaurants there).
Just to be safe, double check the automatic gratuity. We don't add to it any longer (unless it's exceptional service like you get from Ricardo at YSH!!!!
) so weren't paying that close attention. We used it for pre dinner drinks at Martha's Vineyard and the barkeep didn't add the 18% gratuity. She nearly lost out on her tip, but fortunately we noticed when we ordered a second round! So, double check to be sure they've added the gratuity.
Thank you for being a member of our Secrets Family!!! We are so very pleased to have you with us!
