Re: Hummer rental
I would love to have one of those beasts, but the it would take a lot of money to fill it up at the gas station. Maybe renting one on vacation is the way to go.

Re: Hummer rental
The very first "street" Hummer I ever saw was in Greenwich Village. I was so confused!
I couldn't imagine why anyone wanted a "goat" for personal use.
Now they are common place. I think renting a vehicle is a good way to see if you are truly going to like it.

Re: Hummer rental
Yeah, huh?!

When we were in California, I wanted to rent a convertible for one day as Herself had NEVER been driving in one!
So, I asked the wonderful man at the front desk (he was easily the single best front desk person EVER) what my options were. As it was a glorious day he said that all the reasonably priced rentals were gone. I told him that I didn't mind (ulp) paying a bit more if there were anything at all available. He called Beverly Hills Car Rental who told him they had two left. One was a Mini Cooper and one was a FERRARI. Yep. I went with the Mini Cooper (and nearly choked at that price)!
Still would have loved to take that Ferrari up the PCH though.

Re: Hummer rental
We looked into it one day when Hertz had one, just for the day because Chris fancied driving one. When we were told the price, we looked at each other and said no thank you

Re: Hummer rental
Have no desire to drive a Hummer. We own a convertible but rented one at a very reasonable price on one of our Hawaii trips when we used to go over there for business all the time.

I rented an H3 from Enterprise here in Georgia. It had a five cylinder and got decent mpg.
