Re: Apple Anonymous
Well, I am now officially Mountain Lioned.

Still getting familiar with it but there's some things that I think I'm gonna like. I like notifications so far even though it's gonna kill Growl. The new Safari seems pretty nice also although I think the integrated address/search bar is going to take some getting used to.

Re: Apple Anonymous
I'm really liking it so far
icloud integration is working well, the whole thing seems much faster to me (but perhaps that's just the "newness")
Having played with windows 8, I can see a lot more people moving away from windows when that comes out. I think Apple have done a much better job of moving towards tablet/phone integration without making the desktop OS suck.

Re: Apple Anonymous
I am mountain lioned as well and think the old iMac seems to be running faster than before

My boys are already texting me at work from the screen
Apple dictation cannot understand me at all and I have a very middle english accent
So far so impressed

Re: Apple Anonymous
I'm a little ambivalent now about the dictation. I don't know about the privacy aspects of it.

Not totally convinced that I want everything I dictate and all my contact information being sent to Apple.
Even though it can understand me perfectly!

Re: Apple Anonymous
doesnt understand me at all but that's fine and not all that unexpected. I'm a geek and too used to not talking to people for months on end

however, why it has to send to Apple I don't know :/ I can kinda understand it on a cell phone, more processing capacity needed and so on but does it really need more processing power than my i7 imac? Really? :/
edited to add:
I played with an android phone the other day with jellybean installed. I was talking to it normal tone, normal speed and it was understanding 95% of what was said. Not that it ALWAYS replied perfectly, but it was easily good enough to ask questions, dictate etc. Apple need to be careful on this fight...
