Re: Apple Anonymous
Well like catrancher, I would like more control over it! I'd like it to appear as a drive so I could store STUFF in it.
HOWEVER I am using it almost transparently with photos syncing to it and to other devices, documents always being available on all my devices and so on.

Re: Apple Anonymous
Hey FD!
Since you're not completely finished with your college education yet, check out the latest incentive from Apple.
Maybe since you just bought your iPad you can get in on it. Hey, $50 is $50. Never hurts to check.

... didn't we do this when you got your Mac too?)

Re: Apple Anonymous
Jeff,
See this page.
Using iCloud enabled applications on your IOS device (like Apple's Pages, Numbers, or Keynote) don't require any effort on your part to store the documents on iCloud. The first time you launch any of those apps on the IOS device you do have to tell it that you want to use iCloud. After that, the app will automatically store those documents in iCloud. The current rub is that if you want to edit them using any of the same apps on your Mac, you'll need to download the document from iCloud, edit it on your Mac, and then upload it back to iCloud. I'm certain this will change with Mountain Lion. Once you get that upgrade, I doubt that you'll need to manually download and upload those kinds of documents from iCloud. I'm sure at that point, the Mac version of the apps will work exactly like the IOS versions.
The nice thing about it is that once everything is in iCloud, it won't matter which device you use to edit those documents, they'll all use the exact same file. So changes you make on your IOS device will automatically show up when you edit the same document on your Mac and vice, versa.
Course, it will take time for other developers to offer iCloud support in their apps but believe me, it's coming.
Also, keep in mind that iCloud is for more that just your documents. It's for your music, books, contacts, photos, mail, notes, calendars, and bookmarks among other things.
After it's fully implemented, you'll be able to do things like add a new bookmark to Safari on your Mac and have it show up immediately on your iPad or iPhone. There's some of this kind of functionality there today. Start reading a book on your iPad. Then open up the same book on your iPhone. Guess what. You're on the same page where you left off. That kind of thing is courtesy of iCloud.
Stay tuned and be patient. When Mountain Lion launches in July, I'm pretty certain all of this stuff will "just work".
