Be Brave and discover your inner Merida with an archery Lesson at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground at Walt Disney World Resort. In 2012, the time-honored sport of archery has made a comeback, there have been several silver-screen blockbusters have featured skilled archers (including the newest Disney•Pixar hit “Brave,” with Princess Merida). Add to that mix the archery competition at this year’s Olympic Games, and it seems the bow and arrow have made a big comeback.

The resort’s archery instructors introduce you to the sport, teaching you safety and the basic skills you need before letting you try to nail the bullseye yourself. And one of the best things? You won’t have to worry about Harris, Hubert or Hamish pocketing any pastries while you’re enjoying your lesson.

We did this about three years back and thoroughly enjoyed it. The last round is made into a competition and I am proud to say that I won - in a group of myself and 5 men.

I won a Star Wars Monopoly set

You do have to be careful though as there was another lady in the group to start with and she bruised her arm quite badly on the cord as she let go of the arrow.
