Wireless router

I'm looking for a wireless router that has a USB port for a printer. Can anyone recommend a good one?

a wireless router to connect to your broadband service and provide wireless? (in which case do you have DSL or cable?)

or a wireless access point (which you'd need if your broadband service was all setup and you can plug into it but you wanted to make it wireless)

Ahhh, that would be the first option. I have dsl, sadly. It's provided by my apartment complex. I may also need to buy one for work since my iPad doesn't have port.

Ohhhh, another question is there device that will connect to the iPad which has ports for Internet and a printer?

Airport Express

Also solves the printer issue too as long as your printer is USB based.

Nope. It works excellently!

And it's super easy to configure. Do you already have a DSL modem in your place as part of the deal? If not, you'd need one of those too. But they'
re pretty cheap. All you have to do is plug the cable from your DSL wall phone jack into the DSL modem, then an ethernet cable from the DSL modem into the Airport Express.

If you want to do additional configuration bits, you'd need to use the "Airport Utility" application on your Mac. But that's pretty easy. If you do get one, come on back here and tell us and we can tell you about a few small configuration changes that you can make that will secure your Airport Express and your network connection a bit. As it stands in its default configuration, your Airport Express would be pretty open to anyone in range to be able to connect to it. We can tell you how lock that down a bit and secure your wireless connection.

It seems the apartment is already wired for the internet. I actually just plug the ethernet cable into my current wireless router. So you can lock the airport express too for security, awesome!
