Re: Tropical Storm Isaac
Isaac is supposed to become a Cat. 1 right before it hits Hispaniola and then weaken back to a TS over Cuba. Once over the Florida Straits it will strengthen back to a Cat. 1 storm.
The 11am update still shows the storm pushing ever so slowly west. Keep going west Isaac!!! Keep going west.

Re: Tropical Storm Isaac
Excellent! The weather guessers are only indicating a Cat 1 as it passes by you next week and while that's nothing to sneeze at, it's not a Cat 3 by any stretch of the imagination.
And yes Brit, I said the "H" word!

We are flying to Orlando on Sunday. I'd prefer not to have any bad storm.

Re: Tropical Storm Isaac
Isaac continues to move slowly westward and Orlando is now out of the cone. We here in Ft Myers are still preparing for the worst. Better safe than sorry.
Water was already in short supply yesterday afternoon.

Re: Tropical Storm Isaac
The storm is sending bands over most of the peninsula of south Florida. It's not expected to make true landfall until it hits the panhandle or possibly New Orleans.
However, the feeder bands can wreak havoc, particularly where the ground is already saturated.
OIA is canceling flights, and of course south Florida is canceling faster.
Ft. Myers Beach is deserted, but the wind is not terrible. The skies are overcast and gray with sudden bursts of rain, and nearly continuous wind now (but not really high wind speeds).
So, all in all it's a matter of hurry up and wait. School is still on for Orange and Seminole counties (and most counties).
Hope that helps a bit.Thank you for being a member of our Secrets Family!!! We are so very pleased to have you with us!

Re: Tropical Storm Isaac
Oh this storm will definitely be gone, but that doesn't mean another might not come along. Hurricane season and all that.
They just showed Key West on the news. The sky is blue and the water is calm, so it's passed by there with no real problem.Thank you for being a member of our Secrets Family!!! We are so very pleased to have you with us!
