Online check in

We've always used the twilight check in at Gatwick. However, this next trip, we have to leave from Manchester and they don't do a twilight check in.

So, I thought OLCI may be an option. I have a few questions...

What information do I need to do OLCI?
My plane leaves at 1.30pm....does this mean I can check in 1.30pm the previous day? (this is what I'm hoping as we will be setting off from home by car for the airport about 2pm the previous day)
If OLCI works....do I just turn up the next day at the airport for baggage drop or can you do this the evening before?

Any hints and tips appreciated

yep, 1:30pm the previous day!

Turn up the next day and go to the bag drop line. I dont think you can do it the evening before at Manchester

sure does if it's working (and it has 99% of the time for us)

Of course, they could have outages etc. but yeah, it's pretty reliably open at exactly 24hours before

Thanks...somewhere in the back of my tiny mind I thought I remembered some one saying that if there were delays on the previous days flights, then OLCI opened later

I havent seen that happen. In fact last december we watched as the last flights were delayed hours and hours OLCI still opened 24hours before and we were told to be at the airport as normal even though everyone knew we were in for about a 8 hour delay

How far in advance to the flight does the baggage drop open?

4hours I believe
