      Update:

      In a last minute "sod it and see" we decided to ask about premium economy again to see if there were any left.

      Initial conversations revealed a few seats left at £254 each. Eeek. Decided "what the hell" and treat ourselves due to all the delays.

      Tickets written on in biro. Fair enough.

      Waved bank card in front of very nice lady who wrote on a piece of paper "comp". Took a few seconds to realise this meant "free"!!!

      Woohoo. I ain't never gonna complain about Virgin after this!

      Two upgrades to PE free of charge. Ithankyou.

      Are you in the bubble or downstairs The bubble used to be really nice, quiet and relaxed, but with economy passengers now upstairs as well, I think it will have lost it's "specialness" if there is such a word

      Free upgrades are the BEST type! Hope the flight was comfortable and uneventful. I think you may be here by now? I'm never sure how long those flights will end up taking...
