Eating our Way Around the World

Today we went to Epcot, where Chris decided that he was going to have lunch and dinner eating his way around World Showcase.

Here are some of the things that we had:

Argentina

Beef Empanada

I had this and it was delicious, I would definitely recommend it.

Grilled Beef Skewer with Chimichurri Sauce & Boniato Purée

This was Chris' choice and he said it was very nice.

Australia

Grilled Lamb Chop with Mint Pesto and Potato Crunchies

Chris had this and said it wasn't very nice at all, the lamb was very raw and the Potato Crunchies are chips that have been crushed up. This stand was very quiet.

You know me and my sweet tooth, how could I refuse. It was tasty but a little dry.

Belgian Waffle with Berry Compote and Whipped Cream

We both had the waffle and shared the truffles. What can I say, these were very nice and I would definitely go back for more. It's unusual for Chris to like sweet things but even he thought the Waffle was good.

Wild Mushroom Beef Filet Mignon with Truffle Butter Sauce

We both had this and it was absolutely delicious, the filet was cooked just right and was very tender and the sauce was very tasty.

Chris had this and I had a taste, it was very nice, I loved the Mango Chutney.

Germany

Roast Bratwurst in a Pretzel Roll

Chris chose this and said it was OK but he has had better and it would have been nice if the roll had been a little larger

Kalua Pork Slider with Sweet & Sour Dole Pineapple Chutney and Spicy Mayonnaise

We both had these and they are wonderful, I would have liked them to be bigger they were that tasty.

Italy

Ravioli di Formaggio All'emiliana (Baked Cheese Ravioli, Creamy Beef Bolognese, Parmesan, Mozzarella)

I had this and it was a good sized portion which is unusual at the F&WF and it tasted very good. I would definitely go back for more

Salsiccia e "Papacelli" Napoletani (Sweet Sausage, Red Pepper, Ciaibatta Bread)

This was Chris' choice he said that it was tasty but he wouldn't rush back for seconds.

Cannoli al Cioccolato (Chocolate-Covered Cannoli filled with Ricotta, Chocolate, Candied Fruit)

We shared this, but I could have eaten one all to myself, it was divine.

Lamb Meatball with Spicy Tomato Chutney

The spicy chutney was very hot, too much for me, so I left it. Chris ate his and then said it was ok. It is a meatball inside a yorkshire pudding, very strange

Lettuce Wrap with Roast Pork and Kimchi Slaw

Chris had this and I had a taste, if we manage to get back to Epcot before we leave I will have one to myself.

South Africa

Seared Filet of Beef with Smashed Sweet Potatoes and Braai Sauce

Chris chose this and it was terrible, the filet was very rare, I think it must have been shown to the grill for about a minute each side and the sweet potato was cold. Sadly it wasn't eaten, but thrown away.

We love the lettuce wraps. Good to know that the filet is nice! That other stuff with the sweet potato just looks icky. Sorry you had to throw it away though. It's pricey enough there without the food ending up in the bin.

OMG Wendy, we were there yesterday too. Wish we had made contact with each other. Neither of us ate too much as it was so hot and muggy. We're going back this afternoon. That filet from Canada looks marvelous. Wasn't that Caribbean drumstick tasty?
