RUMOR: Could the Blue Man Group at Universal Studios be Closing?
There is a rumour circulating that the Blue Man Group might be closing at Universal Studios.
It would seem that when the show opened in Orlando it was initially well received but since then people have begun to quickly lose interest. A recent reworking of the show doesn't seem to have help muched and it is still rumored to be missing all sales targets.
So what will they replace it with, well, the other part of the rumor is that Universal Studios is considering replacing it with a 30 minute stage version of the musical Wicked.
Watch this space, as soon as I know more, I'll let you know.

I know I'm in the minority, but I really didn't think it was good at all. The funniest bit was before the main show started where they did funny messages on the LED thing.

I saw the Blue Man Group in Vegas and enjoyed it, I've never bothered with the one at Universal though

I know I'm definitely the odd one out here
but in the programme for the show it says something like we noticed the wonderful potential of paints on drums and set out to build a show around it.
...and that's what was wrong with it from my point of view. After being amazed by the paint stuff, the rest of it felt pretty contrived and a bit uninteresting to me.

We saw it once at Universal and also in Berlin. The thing is, once you have seen the show, that is enough. Granted, we loved it, but really, there is no need to see the show again and again. I guess with so many repeat visitors, it isn't as popular now. Why not do another Blue Man production? I often wondered why they hadnt made changes.
