Re: Are there any seaworld backstage tours?

There are quite a few tours at SW :: If you're looking for something for just an hour or so, you could try the....

Predators tour where you will get to go behind the scenes at the Shark Encounter and touch a small shark.

Saving A Species tour lets you hand feed exotic birds.

Polar Expedition takes you behind the scenes at the Wild Arctic where you can touch a penguin.

The above three are $18 per adult or $12 per child plus tax per tour.

They all sound very nice, but I think I'd like to do the penguin one the most.

Re: Are there any seaworld backstage tours?

We've done the Polar one, it's fascinating. Well worth doing. We did the earliest one in the day and there were not many people on it so we had time to chat to the guide.

Re: Are there any seaworld backstage tours?

We did Dine with Shamu last August and we ate by the pool with Shamu swimming around.

It was about 5pm and we bookd early enough to be sat right next to the pool.

We also did the Polar tour.

Photos and details are al in my trip report.

I was thinking the same thing, Tink!

A friend and I vacationed in San Diego in the mid-70s and visited the San Diego Zoo and Sea World. At both places, we spent an inordinate amount of time watching the penguins! 'Course it helped that they had a horrendous heat wave while we were there--well over 100 degrees, which is unusual for them--and the penguin area was quite cool!
