Weird. It's kinda like the stuff they "have" in movies. It's not real in the movies, but now it's gonna be. You know those high tech movies where a magical screen just pops up and people move things around with it. Kinda like Iron Man and his gadgets.

As soon as I saw the xbox kinect I couldnt wait to see it work with normal computers. I think this is going to be a great thing once developers start to get into it (IF they do!)

I felt the same way about virtual reality, I was sure we'd all be seeing complex databases represented as virtual libraries that we could wander round and we'd say "can you help me find the records for june 2011" and up they'd pop etc.

This technology isnt the whole way there, but I think it's more promising than the windows 8 touch screen stuff because at least this can be done from a distance in front of the screen. We've had keyboard and mouse for sooooo long, definitely good that we're getting some more interesting options

I'm actually a little surprised Apple hasn't bought this out.

Unless they're figuring on doing their own thing. Maybe with Siri.

yeah it's a weird one. Soon as I saw Kinect I thought wow microsoft, great move. Apple haven't got into touch screen for desktop at all though. Sure they have ipad/iphone but desktop they've always said it wont work whereas this hand wavy stuff really could.

Of course, voice control would work too who knows
