Ireland trippie day 6 Fri 15/8
The weather was not so bright today, windy and grey again

We were all a bit tired after yesterday and the boys fancied a lazy day. At some point they made Dad play cricket in the field again then around 2pm I said we should go out - i had somewhere in mind that i knew they would love! They weren't too keen but i forced them into the car and off we went!
1/2 hours drive away was Curracloe Beach where they filmed some scenes for Saving Private Ryan. DH and I had been here before but the boys hadn't, they were in for a surprise......the sand dunes are HUGE!
They ran up them, they ran down them, they jumped off them and they rolled in the sand - it was geat fun! When they were worn out from that we went round to the beach side where there were more so it all started again! We stood on the top and could see for miles.....
It was incredibly windy on the beach and felt quite chilly but there were still some mad crazy people swimming in the sea!! The sand was blowing in our eyes which was a pain but hey ho!
When we'd collected all the sand in our shoes and socks we made our way back to the house, depositing the sand in the car on the way!

Airborne! I LOVE the shot of your son in mid air!

Incredible beach. You weren't kidding when you said the dunes were huge.
Are those type of crab you photographed edible?

i have no idea whether you could eat that Tink - i just know i wouldn't!
it was dead but we did put it back in the water just in case it decided to suddenly spring back to life
yes go Dawn, go - it's a fabulous beach. they did have a lifeguard there, it was pretty rough and windy but if you do as you're told you'll be fine!
Dad *did* jump Diane but Mum didn't!

Yes, I could tell it had croaked, but was just wondering if there were edible crab in the sea in Ireland.
Never thought about it before I saw your photo.
Good to put it back in the sea though. Some fishes or other crabs will have made short work of it.
