just redeemed all my FC miles for money off holiday

title of thread says it all really.

I will admit to not understanding FC, companion seats, rewards seats blah blah blah and have read from threads these seats are getting harder to find so me knowing nothing would probably never be successful in getting a good deal.

Tonight I have rang FC and redeemed my miles and they are sending me £500 vouchers to send to VH to reduce my outstanding balance for next year. I am really happy with this - feel like I have had a huge discount (on top of my 10%FVC and my 4 free nights this even beats last years deal when I had free dining )

I know the FC experts here will think I am crazy and could probably have used them better on flights...but £s in my pocket are worth more than 'miles' sitting doing nothing

I'm not an FC expert but I think you got a great deal! Better to have the real £s off than something on paper that may never get used. Sounds like you did REALLY well!

Seems like a good deal to me and anyhow you have earned the miles so it`s up to you how you spend them.
We normally use ours to upgrade to UC for our return journey but as you say getting these seats can be difficult at times.
I am currently trying desperately to spend my companion seat award with them for our trip next year but it ain`t easy!
Virgin are very good when it comes to advertising the benefits of FC, but they don`t mention how hard it can be to spend the miles you have earned.

I think it will only get more difficult as time goes on
