dollar rate better today because of US bank collapse

the pound to dollar is at 1.7743 in some places and still climbing. If youve been thinking of getting some, now might be the time. we've been saying if it gets to 1.8 we'll get our dollars because we cant see it staying there for long but Im getting itchy and may buy some at 1.78/1.79

its always a gamble - it depends on how much you tend to take - some take little cash and do most on credit cards when out there as you tend to get a better rate on those. I have never gone for it during best rate so I am clearly not the best one to ask - but i can tell you when we first went I think the exchange rate was about 1.35 - so its not as bad as that

The Aussie tanked against the US yesterday, and the yen was a little worse.



Oh well, I can't control the international markets so there's no point getting stressed about it - at least the most expensive part of the US portion is paid for!
