I'm a bit excited...
Rick has promised that I can actually take the DGD's to Disneyland at the end of May...beginning of June (summer break for Caitie) 2009.
He was supposed to go with us, but due to work (he doesn't have enough vacation time saved up) I get to take the girls by myself.
Don't get me wrong..I'm not worried about the drive down to LA with the girls. I'm not worried about driving in California (been there done that). All who know me, know that I'll drive just about anywhere with the kids.
MY thing is...where the heck should I stay while we're in Anaheim?
I'd LOVE to stay on property (such as it is), but saying that, I know I'll probably be able to afford the Good Neighbor motels in front of Disneyland.
Paradise Pier was a pretty cool hotel, but they don't offer any sort of breakfast that doesn't cost an arm and leg. I'd love to find a hotel that at least does a continental type breakfast. I'm not really into eggs, bacon, blah blah blah.
SARAH!!!! I need some GOOD advice here!

Is there a Hampton Inn and Suites anywhere nearby? The do a continental breakfast of sorts. So does Homewood Suites?

Howard Johnson's across from DL/CA has a good reputation.
Bev, are you an AAA member? If so, check their website. They'll have listings and they might have specials. Most southern California schools are in session at least until the second week of June, so that first week might be a great time to visit!

Re: I'm a bit excited...
Nope, not an AAA member.
Howard Johnsons...I remember seeing that as we were driving in last year. It's not that far from the park!
The Homewood suites is a bit far for me to walk with the girls. Rick and I stayed at the Anaheim Hilton last time (yes, with the girls ) and it was a bit of a challenge coming back at night. We were ALL so tired.
Sarah, yup, I'm driving. And yes, coming through GJ.

Re: I'm a bit excited...
HoJo's is right off I5 so when you are ready to leave you dont have to fight traffic to get on the freeway...last i remember there was a mexican restaurant right across the street that was pretty good!
