Re: how good is palo?
Have never been, but yes it will get you a private table, and anything I've ever heard is that it is well worth the extra cost.

I think it is $10 per person extra for dinner instead of your usual rotational dining.
We didn't go because we only had 3 days and wanted to eat with the children at the three restaurants but we poked our heads in and it looked lovely and I haven't heared anything bad about it. We would definitely go if we were on a longer cruise.

I want to say that the cost is now up to $15/person but I may be wrong on that. IMHO it is far and away the best restaurant on the ship. It ranks right up there with most of the signature restaurants at WDW. Remember that you should also tip your waiter as it is not included in your regular tip envelopes. Your tip should reflect a percentage of what you think your bill would have been if you had to pay for the meal in a restaurant.

For that extra $10 we spent per person it was SO worth it. And our server (Marco) brought out almost everything on the menu just so we could sample it all! It was a wonderful experience, especially since we were dining with friends. Oh and the food was fabulous!

Re: how good is palo?
As far as my wife and I are concerned, we couldn't conceive of taking a Disney Cruise without doing both a Palo dinner and a brunch. It's adults only if that makes any difference to you.
The price tag is now $15 per person plus any gratuities you'd care to add on. Is it worth it? Once again, in our opinion, it's not just worth it, it's mandatory.
You will indeed get a private table.
And attentive service.
And romantic ambience.
And wonderful Northern Italian cuisine (you MUST have the chocolate souffle)!
Bev, Marco is still there and is now the maξtre d'. Amazingly, he remembered my wife and I from our previous cruises.
So, in my opinion, Palo is an opportunity that's not to be missed. For your consideration, I've attached a picture of just one of the tables of food at our brunch. This was the seafood table. Shrimp, crab, salmon, etc. And when it got empty, they'd bring out more. This was only one table out of about four or five. There was a table of just breads, and one of desserts, and, and... well, you get the idea. There were pizzas (for brunch? Yep :
, and eggs (Benedict, my personal favorite), and steaks and chops and... well the list goes on.
So... is it worth it? Once again, in my opinion, absolutely! I wouldn't miss it for the world.
Hope this helps!
Tom
