London photo trippie part three

We were going to walk along Whitehall to see the Cenotaph, Horse Guards, Downing Street and the Christmas tree at Trafalgar Square but as we passed all that nobody else was that bothered about following the route again on foot. I would've still liked to do it but there's always another day!

We jumped back on the underground and after climbing steps, weaving around through tunnels here there and everywhere, ascending and descending escalators, and changing trains we found ourselves at Hyde Park Corner where we made our way to the other Christmas Market!

This one is named Winter Wonderland and was much more lively than the previous one. There was a large ice rink but i believe alll the time slots were taken, a viewing wheel much like a smaller version of the London Eye from what I could see. Carousels, small coaster, ski slope slidey thing, and general fair ground type rides plus lots of market chalets.

The boys, Dh and I took a ride on the Haunted House which was bliddy expensive - 15 tokens needed altogether at £1.00 per token.

DH rode of in a car with DS14 and I rode with DS9. It was all going screamingly well until we went through some doors and came to an abrupt stop in the PITCH BLACK with lots of spooky and scary noises.

I told DS9 to cover his eyes as I wasn't sure what was going to happen next - all I knew was that we were ALONE in there with no idea what was happening!

Of course we thought it was part of the ride and after listening to these scary noises for what seemed like ever we took off again and were met with a scene of a stretching rack and various goulish characters.

Then you'll never guess what happened next.........................just as we were dangling in mid air about to go down the slope............................. we flippin' stopped again in the dark!

At this point we realised that something wasn't quite right here and the ride must be broken! All we could do was sit the dangling in the dark listening to the spooky stuff going on around us and hiding our faces so we couldn't see anything horrid!

Sooooo after another lifetime we carried in and when we emerged through the exit doors it became apparent there were indeed problems on this ride. We couldn't even get outta the car and neitheer could DH and DS14 who were ahead of us! They'd only been stopped once in the dark - it was an ok ride - it all added to the scariness for me anyway!

After that we greabbed some horrendously expensive food in the food court and sat by a roaring fire which i videod and hope to be able to attach to this post.

We then made our way back out of the park, back on the underground through more tunnels, up and down more steps and escalators,and then back to Victoria where we jumped on the train and managed to find a seat because we got on early enough to for a change! usually we run to catch it and have to stand half the way home!


Oh and I forgot to say, DH bumped into an old work colleague at the London Eye, and then another who got on to the carriage we were in for the trip home!

i couldn't get the roaring fire to load so you'll have to imagine it - it was a large tv screen playing a dvd (i guess) of a crackliing open fire!
