Sat nav
I have a sony sat nav for home here. When we are in Orlando i wanted to hire one but the car company do not do this (specialist disabled). I know i can put a memory card in it so my question is can i buy one with preloaded maps of Orlando on it. Its something i really really need or all my trip reports will say lost again 6 hours later

Re: Sat nav
Honestly, do you really need it? A good map of Orlando will do just as well and be way cheaper. Or, if you know ahead of time where you want to go, do Rand McNally maps from the 'net.
(I find them more reliable than google or mapquest).

. When we went in 2007 we got loss on a regular occasion when the sat nav we hired decided to not work. I was not driving though just a back street passenger and was told to keep quiet
. I will be driving this time.

Re: Sat nav
Ugh! That's my argument with most sat nav's!!! I've had any number of them in rental cars (garmin) and cannot tell you how many times they've failed. It is so frustrating to then be stuck with no reference point. I've actually had to call home from out of state for directions!
Never again will I travel without a map of the area.
The little GPS on my Verizon mobile works better than those stinking Garmins.
I know loads of folks who have them and like them, but I'm not one of them.
So, have a map for backup is all I can say. Regardless of which type of sat nav you have!
Oh, and things like sat navs, mobiles and aircards can "act funny" in and around Disney. Not sure why, but it's the case. I can be talking with someone who is on I4 and I know when they are reaching the Disney area by the loss of quality on their transmission.Thank you for being a member of our Secrets Family!!!
