Telescope for Sale!
At the moment in my garage I have 2 very large telescopes, one is for my deep sky nebula pictures and the other is for 'visual astronomy' ie looking at stuff and taking pictures of the moon and planets. I have the opportunity to buy a telescope that I can put onto the mount of the first scope and therefore free up somespace in the garage for some, well garagey stuff like a lawnmower and some spanners.
The scope I am offering for sale is my beloved 8 inch LX90 with GPS (visual, planets moon)- it is essentially the same as this...
http://www.telescopehouse.com/acatal...810_90_01.html
but is the slightly older version that does not have ACF - not that I think that makes a huge difference. It has GPS and an on board computer that will swing to whatever you want to see. I will also chuck in some bits and bobs, and will of course be avaliable to get you set up
It is 1 1/2 years old and is as good as new - I have used it to take an awful lot of the pics on my photobucket site , all the moon and planet pics and quite a few of the nebula and galaxy pics as well.
It is £1500 new and like I said I will be throwing in some extras so really I am looking for £1000 for it.
I have the original box but TBH it will need to be picked up as it is LARGE.
If the person I am buying the replacement from pulls out then this may change the complexion of the deal - I am sure this won't happen, but it is best you know that.
any questions post them on the thread, any interest send me a PM and we'll talk.

OK I'll leave this on here for a week before I stick it on the astro sites I deal with - just wanted you chaps to have the heads up. I understand its a lot, and its post xmas n'all but you've been so supportive just wanted it to go to a good home.

Re: Telescope for Sale (probably)
First of all I would suggest to anyone to get used to setting it up and enjoying the view through the scope - learn a bit about the sky and that.
That said I started imaging very quickly after I got my first scope.
To take pics of the moon and planets you would need this webcam or similar
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PHILIPS-Webcam...1%7C240%3A1318
an adaptor to screw into the lens which costs about £20
and a couple of bits of freeware to download. ( a laptop of course to be outside with you)
Took all the planet pics like that - see the website links in my sig
To take pics with a DSLR you would need a t ring and a nosepiece adaptor which together would cost about £30 and you are up and away. you can take short 'deep sky' images like this

But as with all things it takes time and practice but I would of course be here to help.
I will probably throw in the power supply which comes to £70 and a focal reducer which helps 'speed up' the tube for deep sky photography and that cost another £80 as well
you would need to buy some eyepieces and a barlow lens but I can take anyone seriously nterested through all that stuff
