Cheap telescopes for one and all!
Hi folks, happy new year...and the year in question.. the International Year of Astronomy. 2009 is the 400'th anniversary of Galileo's study of the night sky with the new fangled thingy called a telescope. This year, astronomers and scientists want the Earth's children to see the wonders of the heavens. They have put together a very inexpensive telescope kit similar to the one that Galileo used for the masses. I am not sure of the final price of the kit but I think it was supposed to go for between $10 and $20 USD. Visit the site to see about ordering one (maybe hard to just get one as they are trying to sell them to groups by the gross).

Hi Becca, you are most welcome. Have to celebrate the IYA 2009. Our shipment should be coming soon. They are a bit backed up on the orders, as this is a volunteer operation. Let me know how it goes.
BTW... you look like a STAR in here too.

Re: Cheap telescopes for one and all!
I did see that they were somewhat backed up on orders, but that's a good thing IMO, it means it's been successful! We're not in a massive hurry to get them, as we probably won't start using them until next school term anyway...so no worries!
Awww! Dan!! You made me smile!!BTW... you look like a STAR in here too.
(Unless of course STAR is some acronym you astronomers use when referring to complete nutters
)
