      why does it take less time on the flight back?

      Ive always wanted to ask this but havent in case its really stupid how come it takes less time on the flight back to the UK than going out? does it go a different way?

      It`s mainly due the the fact that invariably there is a strong tail wind on the return journey as most of the weather patterns flow West-East.
      This can significantly effect the flight times.

      No. When you think about it, a flight time is a flight time of a certain duration in hours and minutes irrespective of the time zones.

      I wouldn`t worry too much about it. It always used to confuse me on my early business trips when I kept on checking with our travel agent that he hadn`t got his times messed up!
