Outer Rim bar at the Contemporary reopens

The Outer Rim bar has now reopened after being rebuilt. It's located in the same location as before, close to Chef Mickey's and the new Contempo Cafe.

Well in and of itself it was never anything amazing, just a little bar in the contemporary but somehow it developed a nice feel over the years. Quite a little buzz. You could look out over the lake whilst having a nice drink and it was one of those Disney places where people always seemed to start chatting Even for me as a shy person, I've met people just by sitting there nursing a cocktail or four

It was one of a number of hidden treasures at the Contemporary which used to include the wonderfully large arcade, now a lot smaller, the bar, the fireworks viewing area, the nice shops etc.

Before it closed, the regular servers were redeployed (I imagine) leaving it in the hands of some real amateurs On our last visit, we ordered cocktails as did the only other table. So that's two tables each with two people on.

They brought us all the wrong drinks, quite impressive when you'd think random chance would get one of them right at least. Then, all had been sipped to tell they were incorrect, tried to just swap them all round instead of getting new ones.

The lady got very flustered and shouted at all four of us "it's horrible here when it gets so busy" and stormed off

I hope those sorts of problems have been addressed! We always enjoyed having a drink and gazing out the windows of the Outer Rim bar.

Can't say as I'd like being chastised by the server though.

It really was just the once and hasn't put me off it was pretty obvious to me that they were just new staff brought in from somewhere else. I doubt they'll be there after the refurb
