AM I EVER COMING HOME! 20TH DECEMBER….WE ARRIVE

No need for the alarm this morning either!
I am in the shower when room service arrives with our breakfast. I have to say that I was impressed. The hot food was hot and the cold food was, well, cold. There was Weetabix for me and cornflakes for DH. A full fried breakfast each and a selection of jams and breads/toast. This went with a pot of tea and orange juice.

We head over to the bag drop and there is a separate queue for those who had done online check in. There was just one couple in front of us so we were done in a few minutes. DH went though security without any bells ringing. When I followed though, there was that familiar ringing sound and I have to go for a pat down. When will I remember not to wear an underwired bra for the journey!

This is our first time at Manchester airport and I was disappointed at the few shops that were there. We grabbed ourselves a drink and found a seat near the monitors. There were quite a few folk sitting around as the New York flight had been delayed for 4 hours because of snow. Hopefully Florida won’t have any snow….only sun sun sun.

We are called for boarding about 15 minutes later than scheduled which is I think, our best time yet. Ruby Tuesday is our plane and we have travelled on her a few times now. Originally, I had re-assigned us a set of two seats at the back of the plane but, when VA decided to charge extra for these seats, we were moved to a set of three near the middle of the plane. We were actually asked if we wanted to buy those seats back when we did the bag drop….an extra Ł50 each, I don’t think so.

Our main meal on the plane was actually ok. We both had chicken in sauce with cheesy mash. We also got cold pasta…not so good. Cheese with crackers and a chocolate mousse. Drinks with this meal were a bottle of water, wine, and tea or coffee.

About 90 minutes before we were due to land, we were given an egg mayo bun which was pretty average.

It was a good flight with no turbulence at all.

A miracle happened….our cases were some of the first to come around on the conveyor belt. Normally we are the folk left at the end, sighing and looking glum.
I also had the Dollar Express card which took us straight to the front of the car hire line. To top it off, I had a voucher I printed off the internet for a free upgrade which Dollar gave us with no problem. We were given a silver Sebring.

We headed over to Champions gate where we stocked up on cold drinks and essentials from Publix. Then we got ourselves a sandwich from Subway to eat when we arrived at the villa. I sent Wendy a text to ask where she and Chris were…they were having a bag of chips at the Raglan Road counter.

Not long after we had eaten, our Wendy and Chris called in for a while. By now, I was really tired and could have slept on a clothesline….and it showed! (I do apologise for this Wendy) Anyway, they are such a lovely couple and I was looking forward to spending the whole of Christmas Eve with them.

We eventually got to bed about 4am UK time and didn’t bother setting an alarm …a nice lazy morning was planned.

The fun starts in the morning as we head to WDW
