I was out and I meant to get my camera out in the garden when I got home but i forgot. Your post just reminded me and now I'm nice and warm in my jammies.

Re: woohoo!!!
i saw the moon, its quite a small crescent at the moment - the landscape and i presume what they call seas - correct me if i'm wrong Chris
i saw venus which was near the moon this evening, it's a crescent sort of shape at the moment
i saw a pinky coloured star that i can't remember the name of
i saw Orions belt and sword and also the orion nebula which has a cloud (of gas?) in it and there are 4 stars in the middle that are in the shape of a trapezium.
I also learnt that you can't see the colour in space because there's not enough light (i think) and that our galaxy is in the process of colliding with another but very slowly.
we came back and did some maths about distances and light years - it takes approx 5 light minutes for light to come back from the sun and it is 93 million miles away so a light year is 12 times as far. It truely is awe inspiring.
