big cat rescue, Tampa

has anyone done this? is it humane? i am a bit wary of zoo type attractions.

I'm thinking of doing this instead of busch gardens because all i really wanted to do there was feed the giraffes and it's a lot of money to pay for a park ticket and then pay again.

We haven't been to BCR since January 2006 and some of the rules and regulations have changed since we were there. When we visited, you could feed the cats...





...now, the public aren't allowed within 3 feet of the enclosures.
The cats are treated well and lead far better lives than the situations they were rescued from but, they are still captive so, they are still in 'cages'
The enclosures are bigger than you would see at most zoos but nothing in comparison to the big cats at BG or AK.
If you love the big cats, I would go for it......however if you want to just feed giraffe's....you won't find any here!!
Actually, if you do like the big cats, BG's new Jungala area is so neat and you can get real close to the animals.

It takes 60 - 80 minutes by car, depending on traffic. BCR is in Tampa, not too far from Busch Gardens.
