Best park for New Years Eve

Does anyone stay over new years? If you do perhaps you can help me decide what park to plan for us to stay in. Is it really busy? I sort of feel that EPCOT would be the park to be in but I dont know why ?

Re: Best park for New Years Eve

For us EPCOT is the park of choice for NYE.

Why? Many reasons! We particularly like to see the new year in at the different countries. UK does a neat little celebratory "thing" and we go on from there.

They have two shows of Illuminations, one around 8 pm and the other at midnight.

There is live music in several places, and a huge screen in Japan showing vintage Mickey.

At least those are some of the things that have gone on in years past.

It gets very busy and crowded, so plan on arriving early to be sure you can get in.

MK gets wicked crowded too! (But you can't toast in the new year with champagne at the MK).

Re: Best park for New Years Eve

We are two adults and spent two NYE's at MK...the fireworks were amazing.

However, the past three NYE's we have spent in Epcot. We go about 9am and stay until around 1am the next day. The atmosphere is amazing and we love the disco they have in FutureWorld. It's called DJ Scooter's Dance Party and both young and old dance together to old and new songs.

Re: Best park for New Years Eve

We went in 2007. A couple of nights before NYE, MK does a test run of the NYE fireworks so we got to see those.

On NYE, we first went to Epcot and spent several hours in the World Showcase. They gave away hats and noisemakers. It sounded like ducks mating!

We went over to MGM and watched the new year come in.

It was definately packed!! But we had fun.
