      Orlando airport and immigration

      This is on behalf of a friend but I dont know the answer so Im asking here

      they want to know how it all works from getting off the plane to getting to the hire car pickup point. security, immigration and everything so they can plan for it otherwise they'll panic

      Could someone help?

      I'm presuming you mean MCO and not Sanford.

      You get off the plane and first go through immigration, then you go straight into baggage reclaim. Once you have your bags you pass through customs. Then you get on the monorail to the main terminal. You can either carry your bags with you or put them on the conveyor belt to travel separately. If you do the latter you need to reclaim your bags at the other end again. Then you go through into arrivals and follow the signs to the car hire desks.

      Depending on how quick you get through immigration is the key to how long it will take. The best we've done is from plane to car in 1 hour.

      Just to add that it`s not really practical to carry your bags instead of putting them on the conveyor unless you only have carry on items.
      You have to negotiate a flight of stairs and a long walk to the monorail and you can`t take your baggage trolley with you!

      I agree - but saw quite a lot of people doing it last trip making the monorails very crowded with luggage
