water parks any good?
Dont all die of shock but I have never been to any of the water parks
I keep hearing that some are open some are closed part of the year so can someone help explain. Is there only 1 water theme park open at any one time? Do we need special tickets and if so which? Are they even worth it?

Re: water parks any good?
The Disney water parks are scrubbed and polished every two years so each winter one of them is closed but the other open, not sure on the re-furb schedule of WnW and Aquatica although the latter is brand new so shouldn't need doing and given recent reports on WnW I don't think re-furbing is at the top of the owners list
They are worth a trip, I missed out in 2005 'cos of earache and was gutted
Gavin doesn't swim at all but loves the lazy river and is happy to take pics of me getting a wedgy on the flumes!
Wet and Wild and Aquatica are included in the 5 and 6 Park Orlando Flex-Ticket and the Disney ones are included in tickets bought from the UK, the tickets have 'plus's' on them and a 'plus' gets you into a water park (how many plus's depends on how many days for Disney you buy, the Ultimate tickets mean you can get in and out of the main Disney parks and Water parks as often as you like in that time period)

Re: water parks any good?
Wet and Wild doesn't have the theming that the other water parks have - just lots of blue plastic and hot concrete. The Disney parks are more relaxing - nice wave pools, and you can easily kill a couple of hours drifting round the lazy river at Typhoon Lagoon.
Do not go on Slush Gusher at Blizzard Beach without having a set of forceps waiting at the bottom for you.

Re: water parks any good?
I just love the water parks, as it is a lovely way to spend the day chilling out.
Summit Plummet, a deffo big NO NO for me.
I am not the best of swimmers
so i only go for paddles, which i am not afraid to admit.
I do do the lazy river though, as i can really relax and soak up the hot
and just let all my cares drift away.
Gosh i wish i was there now.

Re: water parks any good?
I've never made it to a water park either because no one ever wants to go with me. However, it seems that I have a couple of trips coming up in the next couple of years and I'm so gonna make someone go so I can do the lazy river.
Dawnie will you take me

Re: water parks any good?
My favourite is definatley Typhoon Lagoon! The waves are AMAZING! and the new (At least it was when I went... in 2005 LOL) waterslide/coaster is there!
Blizzard beach is a close second, Wet 'n' Wild is good, but not really amazing. If you go to europe a lot and go in their waterparks, then that's what to expect from W'n' wild.
Plastic and HOT HOT HOT concrete.
