Star tours to get a cosmic make over

Lucasfilms has apparently been secretly shooting new footage for a revamp of the popular Star Tours attraction at Disney studios.

While there is no official confirmation on exactly what will be done to the ride, the article speculates that 3D might play a role, as will a variety of characters from several of the Star Wars films.

Star Tours has essentially remained the same since it opened in 1987 and rumors have swirled for years of pending changes. Let's hope this particular rumor is true, as Star Tours is long overdue for a major rehab.

This is so welcome and looooooooooooooong overdue.

IMHO they should revamp the whole area into a Star wars zone and include the eatery next door - turn it into a Cantina ( see should have been an imagineer )

We like it though. It's one of the few virtuals that don't make us sick.

Would be nice to see a new version. Let's hope they do it fast and nicely!
