Hello, looking for unique Disney experiences advice!
Hiya all!
Hope you can help - i joined this forum as I am in need of some holiday help from any disney experts out there. But let me quickly introduce myself and give you some background.
I am male, 30, from UK. I love Disney, in the last 4 years my girlfriend and I have been to WDW 3 times, as well as once to Paris. This year we are getting married (December), and part of the honeymoon will be spent in WDW. Herein lies the problem - although i am a fan, my girlfriend is a Disney NUT. She knows near EVERYTHING about the resort, and normally does all the planning, which I am happy for her to do.
But for the honeymoon, I have to plan a 'suprise' for her, as she generally does for me. For example, last year she booked a powerboat ride for the two of us in the lake that spans epcot, magic kingdom and the swan & dolphin. When we got back to the hotel, there was a Girardelli gift set waiting for me.
So, I need to knock her socks off with a unique, money-no-object suprise, and I don't know that much about what is on offer besides the usual attractions. A meal at a posh restuarant won't cut it...
Basically, can anyone give me any hints as to a unique suprise event I can organise for us, or link to any other threads that may be of use in listing unique experiences she may enjoy? Also, how would I go about buying a unique gift set and having it waiting for us back in the hotel room whenever we get back (flowers, say).
We've been on most all of the backstage tours, and have already done many unique things, so any help is greatfully appreciated!!! I can't find anything we haven't already done or are aware of!

Hmmmmm...honeymoon...
A spa day with couples massage at the Grand Floridian Spa or Saratoga Springs? That would certainly be a money is no object and knock her socks off!
No pun intended of course.
Welcome to Disney Secrets!!! We're happy to have you join us! You'll get loads of good responses so get ready!
OHHH! Wait, how about renting Disney's Yacht, The Grand for the Wishes cruise? You can have cheese, wine, champagne, fruit, cake, nearly anything you want on board (you order it from them). It would be incredibly romantic.

Re: Hello, looking for unique Disney experiences advice!
Thanks Tink, good suggestions already! The yacht would be great, but might be a bit similar to her suprise for me last year, which was the powerboat tour ending with the view of the Epcot fireworks (is this Wishes?! i dunno).
As an aside, she adores manatees - I know there are no official tours, but do you think Disney might do a quick behind the scenes tour of the manatee tank in Epcot, even if it was before park hours, as we're on honeymoon (even if it was just for five minutes!)? Or would that be a complete non-starter? We have swam with them in Crystal River in the past, but that was a bit of a letdown.
Anywhere where we could interact with manatees (ie, stroke their belly, not just gaze from afar) would be great, but I can't find any that don't involve swimming with them.

What sort of activities are you looking for? Relaxing/exciting?
Are you animal lovers/do you like sport?

Thanks! We're animal lovers for sure, nothing sporty (not very honeymooy), but am willing to listen to all suggestions out of the ordinary!

Re: Hello, looking for unique Disney experiences advice!
Well, you are my type of people! LOL
Have a look at my animal guide HERE for some suggestions.
My DH and I are big animal lovers too. In the past we have done activities at Busch Gardens such as hand feeding giraffe, also done the Animal Adventure tour and the Saving a Species tour there.
At SeaWorld, we have gone in the shark tank and done the Marine Mammal Keeper.
Have you tried the Big Cat Rescue in Tampa yet? (not sure if you will have the use of a car)
What about a horse and carriage ride.....or even horse riding.
All of the above you will find details of in my guide plus many more
Just give me a yell if I can help any more.

Re: Hello, looking for unique Disney experiences advice!
I don't believe Disney will be able to help you with the Manatees. They are rescue manatees so they are extremely protective of them and would frown upon having humans get into the tank with them.

OOOOOH! Wait a sec!! Discovery Cove at Seaworld? Swim with the dolphins? That might be wicked nice.
The Grand is so much more than the repro Chris Craft.
(Don't misunderstand, I love that boat, but the Grand is fully equipped...
are you following me??? Honeymoon, equipped... c'mon nod and wink...)! LOL. And yes, I mean Wishes. They pipe in the music and it's just wonderful. Pricey too!
Not necessarily terribly splashy, but the segway tours are fun. There is the one in Epcot, and the one at Fort Wilderness.
There is parasailing, stock car riding/driving, personally escorted tours... all sorts of things. WDW PLAY (407) might be a good place to start. They book all the special things like we are discussing.
