Re: things to do in the rain?
P'raps, Brit. P'raps.

I too dislike ponchos. It's too hot for them regardless of the rain. I use a huge umbrella, but that comes with it's own problems, especially if the rain is driving (and at a slant which happens often). One thing you need to remember about central Florida, is that unlike the coasts, there can often be two rainstorms per day. The west coast sea breeze makes its way inland as does the east coast and often both kick up storms. Sometimes they collide and then whoooheeeeee wicked storms!
Keep in mind that if the storm includes lightning as it often does, you should NOT remain in the outdoors and carry on. You should take cover immediately and stay safe until the lightning abates. Florida is the lightning strike capital of the world, and it's not unusual for real problems to be the result of those deadly strikes.
What to do in the rain? Be in your hotel/resort room resting.
Remember the summer's heat and humidity will wear you right out!!!
Be in an area where you can enjoy indoor activities. Many folks head to Disney Quest (and therein is the problem... many folks do this). Films at the Cinema are another option.
We used to book our largest meal of the day during the early afternoon so that we'd be indoors and not rushed when the storms hit. Works quite well sometimes. not so well other times.Thank you for being a member of our Secrets Family!!! We are so very pleased to have you with us!
If you haven't joined yet, do register. It's a great place to make friends and share all those Disney secrets!!
