UK Cell phones in USA pricing
Just choose which provider and tariff you're on and click the link.
Remember to always check with your cell phone provider to make sure that your phone has "global roaming" enabled and that there are no other special requirements or costs for your particular price plan when using your phone abroad. Your UK phone will need to be tri-band or better quad-band.
Texting will be more cost effective than phoning and remember that you will be liable for incoming phone call costs whilst in the USA as well as costs of making outbound calls. To avoid this, setup your phone to divert all calls to voicemail WHILST YOURE STILL IN THE UK!!!! You'll still have to check your voicemail, but it may be cheaper than accepting a call and finding you've just paid £1.50 a minute to receive an advertising call.
Some providers offer special savings plans such as "International Traveller Scheme ITS" which can be added to your plan for just a month if you wish and will save you considerable amounts on each call or text in return for a fee. Ask your provider about them.
Even so, you may still find it more cost effective to buy a pay-as-you-go phone from walmart or target to use whilst in the states.
