Old key west studio v wilderness lodge resort

We have a couple of options for later this year.

the wilderness lodge or akl, not decided properly which would be a normal hotel room but great location and resort!

OR a studio at old key west because disney uk are doing an offer on them

the wilderness lodge room is coming out at about 3000 with tickets and free dining, the old key west studio at about 1800 with the same tickets and dining!

What would be gain or lose by going for the old key west studio over a normal hotel room at the wilderness lodge?

Im not sure about the rooms in particular, but about the resorts... its all about the location!

WL is very close to MK, just a boat ride away, you can even watch the MK fireworks and electrical water parade from some areas...

There are also boats to and from the Contemporary and Fort Wilderness...

So, if you will be spending most of your time in the MK area and/or if you are travelling with young kids and doing more activities in that area (examples: Mickeys Backyard Barbacue or The Campfire at FW, Chef Mickeys at the Contemporary, Carriage rides, etc...), the price difference might be worth it ... but if you dont mind the travelling longer, or arent doing any of those things, or arent travelling with young kids, then for 1200 less, I would pick Old Key West!!

OKW is a great place for adults. Children love it there too, but adults really can enjoy the laid back, Conch Republic lifestyle. Gurgling Suitcase is a great place to have a drink. Make it two! Take one out by the pool.
