      Re: Are Disney strict about height requirements?

      Very strict. The height restrictions are there for safety. Disney are wise to all the ways that people use to try and circumvent them too. Better just to prepare your child for the fact that they may not be able to ride everything they want to rather than risk injury or ejection from the park.

      I agree with Dawn... the restrictions are there for your child's safety, so if he's not tall enough, I wouldnt even try to get him to pass, its putting him in danger

      Re: Are Disney strict about height requirements?

      They have their measuring stick there so no getting away from it. You may find when you get there that you little was has grown that half inch and can go on the rides. I am sure there will be plenty for them to go on as only the large roller coasters etc require the max high limit for children which I think is 54 or 56 inches

      Re: Are Disney strict about height requirements?

      My 4 year old niece was tall enough to go on most of the rides. I know she went on ToT and a couple other thrill rides.

      WDW = 39 visits since 1979

      Re: Are Disney strict about height requirements?

      Many of the rides have a 40" limit with some at 44, some at 48 and some at 52. They WILL measure.

      Re: Are Disney strict about height requirements?

      You wouldn't put your precious child into a car without a seat belt on and let some maniac zoom off with him/her would you? I can understand in the excitement of being there that you can lose your head it's easily done as everyone assumes Disney is so safe and cushioned, but at the end of the day it IS machinery and dangerous machinery at that.

      Re: Are Disney strict about height requirements?

      Word to parents on the Barnstormer. It's quite a fast little coaster and when we were on it with a little family member, he bumped his head (hard! ) on take off, so have your arm around the child's shoulders, to prevent her/his head from being snapped against the high backed car.

      Never override a Disney safety system. I know it's hard when little ones (and not so little ones!) want to do a particular attraction, but if the person is too short, they really need to be encouraged to realize that it's for their safety. There are truly loads of other options, and in most cases the child will have grown tall enough by the next visit.

      Delayed gratification has value, eh?
