Today Monday 28th July.....

1951....Walt Disney's 13th animated film Alice in Wonderland is released in the US.

1998....Disney's first cruise ship The Magic is christened and will embark on it's maiden voyage two days later

2004....Sam Edwards passes away in Colorado. His Disney voice includes Thumper in Bambi

Today Tuesday 29th July....

1922....The first Laugh-O-Gram cartoon Little red Riding Hood is released. Written, produced and directed by Walt Disney, this is a silent, black and white film. This is considered to be Walt's first full length cartoon as prior to this, only minute long cartoons had been released.

1957....Time magazine runs an article about Walt's success entitled 'How to make a Buck'

1999....Aerosmith are the guests of honour at Disney World's MGM. This is a special invitation only party to mark the opening of the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. It will officially open to the public tomorrow.

Today, Wednesday 30th July....

1932....Disney's first full colour animated film Flowers and Trees premieres at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. It will earn Disney his first academy award for best short cartoon.

1993.... Indiana Jones roller coaster debuts at Disneyland Paris

1998....Disney launches it's first cruise ship the Disney Magic. It is one of the three largest ships in the world.

1999....Rock 'n' Roller coaster starring Aerosmith officially opens to all guests at Disney World. The indoor roller coaster features a high speed launch of 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds.

Also at Disney World, the Fastpass begins at Magic Kingdom on Space Mountain and Splash Mountain.

Today, Thursday 31st July….

1960….The Sunkist Citrus House opens on Main Street in Disneyland (it will remain open until June 1989)

1997….Bob Penfield, the last original Disneyland cast member, has his final day of work. He will be honoured with a window on Main Street. He began work in Disneyland in 1955 when he was 18 years old.

2007….The Mickey Mouse Treasures is released today. The book describes Mickey’s life over the decades. The author is Robert Tieman.

Today, Friday 1st August….

1991….Walt Disney World’s Coronado Springs Resort opens with 1,967 rooms and suites.

2002….Once Upon A Toy, a 16,000 square foot toy store officially opens its doors at Downtown Disney Marketplace.

Today, Saturday 2nd August….

1992….Due to the threat of Hurricane Erin, all Disney World parks open late at 11am

1999….Disney’s newest ship the Disney Wonder is escorted into Port Canaveral for the first time by its sister ship Disney Magic.

Today, Sunday 3rd August...

1933....The Mickey Mouse watch is introduced at a cost of $2.75

1955....The 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Exhibit opens at Disneyland. Featured are props and set pieces from the 1954 Disney release 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. (It will remain open until August 1966 when it was replaced with Star Tours)

Today, Monday 4th August....

1989....Disney illustrator Paul Murry passes away. During his career, Murry drew thousands of pages of comics and was one of the very few artisits who could essentially draw all of the Disney characters.

1995....Ground is broken for Disney's newest Florida theme park - Animal Kingdom.

Today, Tuesday 5th August....

1992....Walt Disney World welcomes it's 400 millionth guest - Brandon Adams.
