Dining Plan Price Changes?

Received this news from a friend of mine this morning...have not confirmed it as of yet, perhaps Johnie will have news?

It appears as though they will be pricing the MYW plus Dining package according to season next year...


2010 Disney's Magic Your Way plus Dine Package

Dining Plan Rates are now based on dates of travel. If your stay is booked over two different seasons the price of the dining plan will be pro-rated just like the room rates.

$41.99 per adult (ages 10+) $11.99 per child (age 3-9) per night above the cost of the Magic Your Way Package for travel dates: 1/01/10 – 2/11/10 ; 4/11/10 – 6/03/10 ; 8/15/10 – 12/16/10

$46.99 per adult (ages 10+) $12.99 per child (age 3-9) per night above the cost of the Magic Your Way Package for travel dates: 2/12/10 – 4/10/10 ; 6/04/10 – 8/14/10 ; 12/17/10 – 12/31/10

Basic Dining Plan Includes:
1 Table Service Meal per Guest, per night
Meal includes: Entrée, Desert, and non-alcoholic Beverage OR full buffet and non-alcoholic beverage, gratuity not included
1 Quick Service Meal per Guest, per night
Meal includes: Entrée or entrée combo, Dessert, and non-alcoholic Beverage
1 Snack per Guest per night


In addition it looks like they are also dropping the free 5x7 photo from the MYW packages next year.

Why is it Johnie that they have one rule for the US market and one rule for us. Our park ticket have not gone up then that is a blessing in disguise and they offer us the free DDP!

Not sure if it is the UK market tend to stay 7 or 14 nights on site

I truly have no idea. We get offered free dining but only at certain times of the year. You guys had the 2010 dates well before we did too.

Jim and I have decided when we go next year , that we are staying off site, renting a car and eating wherever we like . We enjoyed the convenience of eating at places like Steak N Shake and Joes Crab Shack . Merchandise is also a lot cheaper off site.
Disney is pricing themselves right out of business . I will no longer pay OOP for the dining plan . Again tickets rise, the norm of the resort overage for the new year, and now the dining plan goes up , Nope, nope, nope, too many nice off site hotels with great rates and restaurants that are hurting for business .

Yes, do it and let us know. I'm sure the menu prices will go up for 2010. I have always been a fan of the DDP for the convenience but may have to take another look!
