    i don't do landscapes or anything like that but i did just buy a 18-55is to replace my kit lens and am quite pleased with the results

    whatever you get make sure you have the lens hood for it as it will be very bright
    just seen the 50mm a tenner cheaper here with a 2yr warranty

    I took my kit lens to Hong Kong with me and it was more than adequate. I would have perhaps liked a better zoom in some of the shots of animals but for the pain of carrying it around I probably wouldn't have anyway.

    It was a 17-80 lens and was just fine.
